MAKING RETIREMENT TRANSPARENT

Financial services, and especially pensions plans, have been for the longest time not particularly user friendly. Most of the interaction between providers and customers were exclusively mediated by Financial Advisors even post sale, creating a divide between provider and customers.

Just set out to change that for their customers, by setting up a design lab to help developing a full set of user friendly customer dashboards for their financial products that was approachable and helped customers plan for their retirement with confidence.

THE PROBLEM

As retirement in UK became a matter that people could not delegate entirely to the state anymore, the general lack of transparency offered by private pension funds at the time lead into major anxiety and poor planning, yielding dramatic results for many retirees.

DIGITAL GARAGE

We set up shop in a WeWork office, in walking distance from the main office of Just in the Heron tower. It was only me and Pete to begin with. And a six figure budget. Within 3 months we recruited enough talent to start working on the delivery of Just’s consumer grade financial dashboards, in the form of a portal called MyJust.

We had to expand the very limited style guide of the brand, figure out the onboarding process, customer support mechanics and of course, the dashboard itself.

This was but the first of many projects that the digital lab delivered, spacing from roboadvice on retirement planning, to the expansion and refinement of existing tools to drive sales through Financial Advisors, and data visualisation.
